ComCare
Comcare claims are workers compensation claims available to employees of the Commonwealth of Australia, and it's agencies and some significant sized private sector employers.
The claims are made pursuant to the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (Cth) and are primarily claims for workers compensation including:
- Claims for weekly payments of compensation for periods of incapacity for work, either total or partial.
- Claims for medical, hospital, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation expenses.
- Claims for permanent impairment lump sums.
- Subject to election, in some circumstances, limited actions for common law damages are available against the Commonwealth which provide for payment of damages for pain and suffering.
In the event that you are injured at work and are being paid Comcare benefits, you should consult with us check that the benefits are being paid correctly and to check on your permanent impairment and common law rights.
Disputes in respect of Comcare payments are subject to internal review, and if not resolved they then may be the subject of appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal of the Commonwealth.
